Welcome to the wildest corner of the internet! If you have ever stayed up past your bedtime to snag that perfect vintage comic or spent your lunch break hunting for the ultimate piece of art glass, you know exactly what we are talking about. Here at Funky Junk Auctions, we live for the thrill of the hunt and the joy of finding something truly special…. and sometimes, things get a little bit crazy. We love our community of collectors, and we know that online collectible auctions can be an absolute roller coaster of emotions.
To celebrate the madness, the mystery, and the "must-have" items that cross our path, we have put together a special gallery. We invited our favorite mascots, the scruffy Trash Panda, the perpetually exhausted Panda, and our fabulous Roller-Skating Flamingo, to help us illustrate the "average" day in the life of a Funky Junk fan. From last-minute bidding wars to the glory of a successful curbside pickup, these are the moments that make our community so awesome!
1. The Silverware Sovereign
Every auction has its king or queen! When you win that massive lot of sterling silver or unique kitchen treasures, you deserve to feel like royalty. Our resident Trash Panda decided to take things a step further by fashioning a crown out of vintage forks and spoons. He is currently reigning over his kingdom of "junk"…. which we all know is actually a mountain of potential masterpieces including old luggage, wooden crates, antique gears, and so much more.
2. The Dairy Collection Meltdown
We have all been there…. the auction closes at 10:00 PM, but you spent the last four hours researching the history of vintage milk bottles from the 1940s. Our exhausted Panda is the perfect representation of that post-auction slump. He is surrounded by some of our favorite dairy goodies like antique glass milk bottles, vintage dairy crates, ceramic cow figurines, and milk caps. It is a lot of work being a collector, but somebody has to do it! This is why we always say coffee first…. adulting (and bidding) second.
3. High-Stakes Balancing Act
Bidding in our online collectible auctions requires speed, precision, and apparently, great balance. Our fabulous flamingo is trying to secure her latest find while staying upright on her retro pink wheels. Whether you are bidding on fine china, vintage jewelry, or those cool 80s toys, the pressure is on! It is a high-speed world out there, and sometimes you just have to lean into the chaos to get the win.
4. Auction Addicts Anonymous
"Hi, my name is Team Funky, and I can't stop looking at vintage comics." We created this "Bidder's Support Group" for all of us who might have a tiny problem…. namely, not having enough shelf space! Our mascots are gathered together to share their stories of "the one that got away" and the glory of the win. It’s a place for coffee, community, and planning for the next big event. If your house is full of art glass, sports cards, and old books…. you are in good company!
5. The Ultimate Curbside Pickup
We offer convenient, scheduled curbside pickup for all our local bidders, and sometimes people get a little ambitious! Our Trash Panda is proving that where there is a will, there is a way. He managed to fit a massive, ornate wooden grandfather clock onto the back of his tiny convertible. We see some pretty amazing things during our pickup hours…. vintage furniture, giant signs, boxes of household goods, and even the occasional suit of armor. Just make sure you bring some bungee cords!
6. Safety First with the Gnome
One of the most unique items we have seen lately is a genuine Anti-Exposure Personal Flotation Suit. Naturally, our garden gnome volunteer wanted to test it out. He might be a little overwhelmed by the size, but he is definitely ready for any "flood" of new inventory! Our auctions feature everything from the practical to the bizarre, including outdoor decor, safety gear, tools, and vintage garden accessories. You never know what "special" item will pop up next.
7. The Moon is SOLD!
Okay, maybe we haven't sold the moon yet, but we have sold some pretty big stuff! When that "SOLD" sign appears, it is the best feeling in the world. Whether it is a giant rubber duck, a massive piece of wall art, or a whole collection of vintage toys, seeing that confirmation is pure magic. Our online collectible auctions are the perfect place to find those "statement pieces" that your neighbors definitely won't have.
8. The Treasure Hunter's Joy
There is nothing quite like the moment you open your auction winnings to see what you've got! Our Trash Panda is having the time of his life discovering a pile of "new" old goodies. He's found some awesome treats like vintage toy cars, classic books, old clocks, and little knick-knacks. This is the heart of what we do at Funky Junk Auctions…. we help you find those forgotten treasures and give them a brand-new home.
9. Fine China Frenzy
Organizing a massive collection of delicate items is no joke. Our Flamingo has her apron on and is doing her best to sort through a mountain of floral fine china. We often have incredible sets of dishes, teacups, saucers, and platters from famous makers. It takes a steady hand and a lot of patience…. and maybe a few "dad jokes" to get through the process. Spring is coming…. honest…. and it's the perfect time for a fancy tea party!
10. The Last-Second Bid Face
This is it. The final ten seconds. Your heart is racing, your coffee is cold, and someone just outbid you by a dollar. This is the "Last-Second Bid Face" that we all know and love (or hate!). Our Panda is locked in, eyes wide, paw hovering over the mouse. This is where the magic happens in our online collectible auctions. It’s intense, it’s fun, and it’s why we do what we do!
