In 1943, due to copper being needed for the war, pennies were supposed to be steel, but a few copper blanks left in the press created the rare 1943 Copper Wheat Penny.

Five Liberty Head nickels were struck in 1913 after the U.S. Mint switched to the Buffalo design, making them unofficial and incredibly rare.

A "Double Die" error occurs when the die used to strike a coin has a doubled image, creating a blurry effect on the date or letters that collectors love.
